About the Batemans Bay Sailing Club
Batemans Bay Sailing Club has approximately 150 members, of whom just under 100 are active sailing members.
Location
The Club’s current premises are situated at Hanging Rock Place, Batemans Bay which is used as a base for its off the beach activities. Its keel boat activities are focused at the Batemans Bay Marina, Beach Road, Batemans Bay.
Keel Boats
The majority of the Club’s fleet of thirty keel boats are regularly sail in the Club’s Bay Cup and Coastal series.
The main keel boat events include-
· a Bay Cup Series of 10 races;
· a Coastal Cup Series of 6 races;
· a Ladies Skippers’ Series of 4 races;
· a Winter Series of 5 races.
· Twilight sailing and twilight races over the summer
A major event on the keel boat calendar is The South Coaster - a family regatta over January school holidays.
Off the Beach
The off the beach activities are mainly at Coila Beach. In addition, there are:
· the Wallaga Lake Sailing Camps
· the ANZAC Day Weekend Regatta. The ANZAC Day Regatta includes races in State and national titles.
